Medical Registrar/Senior Registrar Opportunity – Tasmania Health Service
UK FY2 doctors suitable for SRMO/Registrar roles encouraged to apply. Secure September 2025 position before the year finishes!
This role offers the option to rotate across a wide range of sub-specialties, including:
• General Medicine
• Cardiology
• Oncology & Radiation Oncology
• Neurology
• Infectious Diseases
• Endocrinology
• Respiratory Medicine
• Rehabilitation
• Haematology
• Renal Medicine
• Gastroenterology
Key Details:
• Commencement Dates:
February 2025 or September 2025 (flexible for start dates between/after these months).
• Contract Length:
12+ months with the opportunity for extension.
• Salary:
$131,000 – $183,500 + 11.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging (based on 86 hours per fortnight).
• Relocation Assistance:
- Visa support (482) with the potential for Permanent Residency (PR) sponsorship in the future.
- Relocation funding for flights, accommodation, car hire, etc.
The Facility:
This 400-bed Tertiary Teaching Facility is renowned for its advanced acute care services, treating over 24,000 inpatients and more than 225,000 outpatients annually. The state-of-the-art Emergency Department is equipped with 43 treatment beds and manages more than 45,000 cases each year, with a 35% admission rate. The hospital enjoys a strong partnership with the University of Tasmania through its Clinical School.
Eligibility:
• General or Provisional Registration with AHPRA or eligibility to obtain registration.
• International Medical Graduates (IMGs) eligible through the Competent Authority Pathway (training in the UK, USA, New Zealand, Canada, or Ireland).
• UK IMGs who will complete FY2 by August 2025 and are interested in gaining experience in Australia are also welcome to apply.
