Charterhouse Medical has partnered with Tasmania Health Service to support the General Medicine department. This position offers the chance to work as a Medical Practitioner at the primary referral hospital for the region, providing exposure to high-acuity cases and a wide range of clinical experiences.

Commencement Dates:
- • February 2025 or September 2025 (flexible start dates between)
Contract Length:
- • 12+ months, with the possibility of extension
Salary:
- • Base salary of $131,000 - $183,500 (depending on level) + 11.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging (based on an 86-hour fortnight)
Relocation Assistance:

Facility:
This 400-bed tertiary teaching facility is recognized for its acute care services, treating over 24,000 inpatients and 225,000 outpatients annually. The Emergency Department, with 43 treatment beds, handles over 45,000 patients each year and maintains a 35% admission rate. The hospital is accredited with the University of Tasmania for clinical training and offers a range of training opportunities.
Accreditations with RACP
- • Basic Physician Training (BPT) – Principal Training Program, Level 3 (up to 33 months of training)
- • Advanced Training in General Medicine, Gastroenterology, Infectious Diseases, Medical Oncology, Nephrology, Palliative Care, Endocrinology
Eligibility:
1. General or Provisional registration with AHPRA or eligibility to obtain
2. IMG candidates eligible via the Competent Authority Pathway (UK, USA, NZ, Canada, Ireland)
3. UK IMG’s who will complete FY1 & FY2 are also encouraged to apply
