Western Australia, covering the entire western third of the country, is made up mostly of the arid Outback. Its population is concentrated in its fertile southwest corner, home to the Margaret River wine region and the riverside capital, Perth. In the far north, the Kimberley region is home to ancient Aboriginal rock art, the Bungle Bungle sandstone domes and Broome, with Cable Beach camels and a pearling industry.

Western Australia boasts an amazing lineup of spectacular natural events and attractions, many of which are only found in a handful of locations on Earth and regularly occurring at particular times or seasons of the year. This is also home to 70 per cent of Australia’s mammals and 25 species are only found in the west. The Aussie Big Five includes smiling quokkas, endangered whale sharks, playful humpbacks, surging orcas and iconic kangaroos can be found here.

In terms of the Health System, Western Australia has more than 80 hospitals spread across an area of 2.5 million square kilometres, providing world-class health care to a population of around 2.5 million. Whether you are looking to work in one of the 6 large Teaching Hospitals in and around the Perth area, or in a more General or Specialist Hospital, the greater Perth area will have a number of options for you. If your preference is working a little more regional or remote, we can offer you work in one of the 7 country regions where there are a large number of small to medium hospitals in each region covering both coastal inland and outback locations.

In regards to the healthcare system, there are four major hospitals that form the Tasmanian Healthcare System - Royal Hobart, Launceston General, Mersey Community & North West Regional as well as a number of other hospitals within the Calvary Health Care system and as well as some private hospitals.

With being slightly cut-off from the mainland, there is typically a consistently high volume of locum work within the state throughout the year across all major specialties and levels.
