The Position:
This is an incredible opportunity to work as a full time, O&G Registrar at a major hospital in rural NSW.

Provide high quality clinical and non-clinical services to a community that has approximately 1000 births per year.

O&G registrars that work for this hospital get great exposure to everything i.e. birth suites, theatre lists etc. (normally this is left for the accredited trainees).

WBA Accredited Hospital

The Location:
Located in rural NSW, this location has a population of around 70,000 people and is known as the "Country Music Capital of Australia” as it hosts the largest country music festival in the southern hemisphere and attracts thousands of visitors each year.

In addition to its strong music culture, this city has a range of other amenities and attractions, including parks, museums, and galleries. It is also surrounded by beautiful countryside and is a gateway to the New England region, which has a rich agricultural history and is known for its natural beauty.

This regional city has a lower cost of living than many major cities in Australia. This can allow for a better work-life balance, with more time and resources available for leisure activities and family life.

This city is well-connected to other parts of Australia, with daily flights to major cities such as Sydney and Brisbane, as well as good road and rail links.

If you enjoy a strong music culture, a relaxed lifestyle, and easy access to the outdoors, this is the location for you.

The Facility:
The 300-bed hospital is the biggest healthcare facility in NSW outside the Sydney-Wollongong-Newcastle metropolis.  It is also accredited for training with RANZCOG which means it attracts great junior support.

The hospital provides specialist services to a population of around 70,000 people and is the referral hospital for the region.  These include general medicine, gastroenterology, mental health, kidney medicine, maternity, urology, orthopaedics and oncology and many other specialty areas.

Practicing medicine in a rural city like this can offer unique and rewarding experiences. Rural communities often have strong social connections and doctors can make a significant impact on the health and wellbeing of their patients.

Overall, taking a job in a rural city like this can offer doctors a range of personal and professional benefits, including opportunities for professional growth, a better work-life balance, and a unique rural experience.

Requirements:

  1. General, Provisional or limited registration with AHPRA
  2. IMG’s that have completed the AMC MCQ (part 1) or Competent Authority Pathway (training in the UK, USA, NZ, Canada or Ireland)
