Western Australia, covering the entire western third of the country, is made up mostly of the arid Outback. In regards to the healthcare system, there are four major hospitals that form the Tasmanian Healthcare System - Royal Hobart, Launceston General, Mersey Community & North West Regional as well as a number of other hospitals within the Calvary Health Care system and as well as some private hospitals.

With being slightly cut-off from the mainland, there is typically a consistently high volume of locum work within the state throughout the year across all major specialties and levels.
